Joy trained at the distinguished Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. In 2007, she travelled to Malaysia and spent two months in Penang as the resident singer at the G Hotel. This acted as a spring-board for more travel and Joy then went on to perform in Denmark, the Netherlands and the USA.
