Joy trained at the distinguished Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.  In 2007, she travelled to Malaysia and spent two months in Penang as the resident singer at the G Hotel.  This acted as a spring-board for more travel and Joy then went on to perform in Denmark, the Netherlands and the USA. 

In March 2009 she recorded a demo at Lone Wolf Studios, West Virginia as part of a new jazz group.  It was with this group that she toured aboard the Princess Coral from July to October 2009, cruising between Alaska, Mexico and Florida.  Christmas and New Year 2009-2010 will be spent aboard the cruise ship Balmoral - sailing from Northern Europe to the Canary Islands.
